Mode of Action
In the Curodont Protect remineralizing tooth gel, the Oligo-Peptide formula is present as a biomimetic matrix enriched with calcium, phosphate, and fluoride.
Thanks to the matrix’s high affinity to hydroxyapatite, it adheres to the tooth surface and creates a stable, mineral-rich layer that protects the enamel from demineralization and stengthens it by promoting the formation of new hydroxyapatite crystals.
Curodont Protect gives a noticeable smoother and shinier surface that helps prevent plaque deposition and stain formation.1
The biomimetic Oligo-Peptide formula enriched with fluoride creates a protective, smooth layer on the tooth surface that shields the enamel against demineralization.
The layer attracts calcium & phosphate ions from saliva to remineralize the enamel, providing effective protection from decay and erosion.
Scientific & Clinical Evidence
- Curodont Protect restores the microhardness of enamel significantly better than other enamel remineralizing agents, including fluoride varnish (FV), bioactive glass (BAG), and casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate fluoride (CPP-ACPF).
Artificially demineralized enamel samples were treated with four remineralising agents, including Curodont Protect, FV, BAG, and CPP-ACPF. Curodont Protect restored the surface microhardness of enamel to a level not significantly different from that of sound enamel.
- Curodont Protect demonstrates a significant clinical benefit in the protection of teeth from caries and impeding the progress of initial demineralization of enamel, especially in high-risk caries patients, such as those undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment.
Visible Evidence
Scanning electron microscopy demonstrates the smoothening of surface irregularities on enamel after the use of Curodont Protect and the protection of enamel from erosion on exposure to acids.

Enamel treated with Curodont Protect and then exposed to acid (soft drink) exhibiting protection from erosion
How to Apply
Curodont Protect is an easy-to-use regenerative gel that can be applied by a dental professional as well as by the patients themselves.
IN THE DENTAL OFFICE
CurodontTM Protect can be applied by dentists/dental hygienists after professional dental cleaning or bleaching. Additionally, it can be applied at the end of each orthodontic follow-up appointment.

- Apply Curodont Protect on all teeth surfaces using a rubber polisher, a microbrush, or an interdental brush
- Wait for 1-2 minutes
- Ask the patients to spit out the remnants, if necessary. Rinsing immediately after application is not recommended, so as to maintain the contact of the gel on the teeth for as long as possible
AT HOME
Curodont Protect can be used by patients at home once or twice a week after brushing before bedtime to reinforce their routine oral hygiene measures.
